தஞ்சை மாவட்டம் திருவையாற்றில் சற்குரு ஸ்ரீ தியாகராஜ சுவாமிகளின் ஐந்து நாள் ஆராதனை விழா இன்று மாலை தமிழக ஆளுனர் அவர்களால் துவக்கப்படவிருக்கிறது. கபிஸ்தலம் இளையவர் என்று அன்போடு அழைக்கப்படும் திரு ஜி.ஆர்.மூப்பனார் அவர்களது தலைமையில் செயல்படும் ஆராதனைக் கமிட்டி இதற்கான ஏற்பாடுகளைச் செய்திருக்கிறார்கள். வழக்கம்போல் இன்று தொடங்கி ஐந்து நாட்கள் திருவையாற்றுக் காவிரிக் கரையிலிருந்து இசையின் நாதம் எழுந்து பரவப் போகிறது. சென்னையிலோ, மும்பையிலோ அல்லது அமெரிக்காவிலோ திருவையாறு என்ற பெயரில் இசை நிகழ்ச்சிகள் நடத்தினாலும், ஒரிஜினல் காவிரிக் கரை திருவையாற்று மண்ணிலிருந்து எழும் தியாராஜ சங்கீதம் போல் ஆகுமா என்கின்றனர் சங்கீதப் பிரியர்கள். ஆராதனை நடக்குமிடத்தைச் சுற்றிலும் ஏராளமான கடைகள். அவற்றிடையே திருவையாறு பாரதி இயக்கம் ஆண்டுதோறும் நடத்தும் புத்தகக் கண்காட்சி மற்றும் விற்பனை இன்று மாலை 6-00 மணிக்குக் கலை பண்பாட்டுத் துறை உதவி இயக்குனர் திரு இரா.குணசேகரன் அவர்களால் திறந்து வைக்கப்படவிருக்கிறது. பல பதிப்பாளர்களும் தங்கள் வெளியீடுகளை இங்கு விற்பனைக்கு வைத்திருக்கிறார்கள். செவிக்கு இசையோடு அறிவுக்கு விருந்தாக நல்ல நூல்களையும் இங்கு வருவோர் வாங்கிச் செல்ல வேண்டும். வாருங்கள், இன்று மாலை திருவையாற்றில் சந்திக்கலாம்.

The aradhana of saint composer Thyagaraja is not just an enlightening spiritual experience but also provides food for thought as it hosts music concerts, book expos. The festival brings in its wake numerous exhibitions and other activities at Thiruvaiyaru.

Noted authors

Bharathi Iyakkam of Thiruvaiyaru, that has been organising a book exhibition during the aradhana for the last 20 years, has put up an exhibition hosting hundreds of books. The collections include, all books of Kannadasan, Kalki, Sujatha, lyricist Vairamuthu and others.

On the religious and philosophical side, Kritis of Thyagaraja with Tamil explanation, Periya Puranam, Kamba Ramayanam, Sundara Kandam, Thiruppavai, Bharathy's poems are on display. “Last year we recorded a sale of Rs.1.5 lakh. Books on saint Thyagaraja and his contribution to music are very famous among customers,” said Gopalan of Bharathi Iyakkam. Another exhibition organised by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Thanjavur saw the display of products produced by members of Self Help Group, participants of training programmes organised by the bank and other craftsmen who have benefitted under different schemes implemented by NABARD.

Products on display are Thirubhuvanam handloom silk sarees, icons, photo frames, embroidery sarees, designer blouses, artificial jewellery, glass paintings, flower bouquets besides food items .
